I am a PhD candidate in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
I work primarily on philosophy of science and philosophy of physics, particularly chaos theory, statistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics. My dissertation focuses on philosophical issues surrounding chaos theory. Recently, I have been thinking about how classical chaos shapes and constrains our understanding of quantum mechanics.
My other interests include philosophy of language, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of cognitive science, and causation.
Before Pitt, I received an M.A. in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University and a B.S. in Finance from Drake University. While at Pitt, I also received an M.S. in Physics and Astronomy.
