I received my PhD in Cognitive Science from Central European University, Vienna, studying dishonest behavior and deceptive speech acts. Right now, I’m a postdoc working on social and folk epistemology, looking at questions of how people think about lying and misleading, and what is it that they call deception.
I have published on the topics of media history and epistemology, as well as conspiracy theories. Methodologically, I’m an experimentalist, but have worked with big data and survey tools too. Finally, I’m also involved in a cross-cultural experimental philosophy project, looking at folk intuitions on philosophical concepts.
