My research focuses on issues in philosophy of cognitive science. I'm currently attempting to develop a framework for understanding the roles of abstraction and idealization in the context of model integration in cognitive science and neuroscience. I also have active interests in the empirical study of consciousness, and in issues related to attention and representationalism. Before coming to Pitt, I received a BA in philosophy from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, and an MA, also in philosophy, from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC.
