Siddharth Muthukrishnan

I'm a PhD candidate, supervised by David Wallace. I primarily work in philosophy of physics, philosophy of science, philosophy of language, and philosophy of computer science. I'm also interested in early modern philosophy (especially Newton and Descartes), biomedical ethics, and metaethics. Earlier, I did a PhD in quantum computing theory, and I continue to find that field fascinating. My recent work (forthcoming in the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science) unpacks the philosophical presuppositions underlying black hole complementarity, an influential family of responses to the black hole information paradox. I am currently developing projects on the relation between quantum mechanics and causal reasoning and on the relationship between vagueness in language and modeling practices in physics. My work in physics has appeared in the Physical Review, including in the flagship Physical Review X, and in the proceedings of leading computer science conferences.
